Doesn&#039;t beauty consist in showing ourselves as we are, in accepting ourselves and knowing ourselves as unique? Wouldn&#039;t it be wiser to admire our elders?<\/p><p>I consider my mother a beautiful woman. I never tire of repeating it. And her beauty lies in her bravery, her courage, her wisdom, her tenacity, her strength and her energy. I always emphasize it. I am also fascinated by his gaze, intense and direct; his smile, pure light; and her skin, soft and luminous. When we choose outfits for Thursdays with Mom, we usually discuss between the three of us what clothes she will wear that week. I think about the light, the framing, the composition and the posture that my mother has to use so that both she and the styling look as incredible as possible. El eslogan era \u00abEl antiguo Iriarte, los complementos que m\u00e1s visten\u00bb y la imagen (realizada por el fabuloso fot\u00f3grafo Nacho Vela) la protagonizaba yo, desnuda (o no), sentada en un taburete, en la barra del bar Prida, con un gran bolso tapando parte de mi cuerpo y calzada con unos tacones. Es una foto impactante y preciosa, con una luz espectacular, de la que guardo un grato recuerdo. Y, precisamente record\u00e1ndola, se me ocurri\u00f3 que estar\u00eda genial repetir el concepto cambiando el escenario y a la modelo. Buscar esa misma belleza y esa luz en otra piel, una piel madura y hermosa, una piel que no hay que esconder porque es nuestro mapa y nuestro diario de viaje; y en otra mujer, muy distinta a m\u00ed y a la que yo m\u00e1s amo.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><figure><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Campaign image \" src=\"https:\/\/www.elantiguoiriarte.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/file-15.png\" \/><\/figure><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>I talked to mom first. Yo, la primera. Pero tambi\u00e9n hay una parte importante de prejuicio, de que a cierta edad no se puede llevar tal o cual cosa porque queda feo, porque no est\u00e1 socialmente admitido. Ya tienes unos a\u00f1os y, claro, ya no es \u00abadecuado\u00bb. Tu nunca has sido as\u00ed. Enrique Pin\u00edn, painter and sculptor, gave us his studio. A stool, a gray wall and a large bag (a hunting green leather tote bag from the Mellow collection by Mandarina Duck) were the only elements that appear in the image so that nothing takes away from mom&#039;s prominence. As soon as the model took off her bathrobe and looked at the camera, the magic began. \u00c1ngela could not believe the professionalism and photogenicity of Mommy and I, simply and for once, I experienced it all as a spectator, enjoying that unique and wonderful moment that I will remember as long as I live.<\/span><\/figure><p>It was fast. I didn&#039;t want mom to get cold (even though it was hot as hell) and she, as usual, didn&#039;t fail. In ten shots, we had the job.<\/p><p>Already relaxed, chatting casually, with the session over, \u00c1ngela took this photo of us. There we are, the essence of Thursdays with Mom, the protagonist and the architect. You can&#039;t imagine how lucky I feel to work hand in hand with my mother every week, the unforgettable moments she is giving us, the opportunities we have to get to know each other better and the certainty that it is very beautiful to admire the people you love. and I, my mother, have absolutely captivated me. There is no braver woman. And more beautiful.
